This new release looks (and sounds) most promising, with a premiere recording of Enric Casals' Cello Concerto! https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/lalo-casals-cello-concertos/hnum/11143718 (https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/lalo-casals-cello-concertos/hnum/11143718)

Yes, I had spotted this too, but there were no audio samples when I last looked, so didn't know what to make of the idiom. Thanks for the update, Martin.

score published in 2014 in an edition by Lluis Claret. I don't know if there is an earlier edition. (A search of Worldcat shows a solo cello suite that might have been interesting to also see on the CD if there were room*, and an oratorio by him that would probably not have fit :)...

*Worldcat lists a 13 minute recording of this D minor cello suite by Mr. Claret.

Here's (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gDlV1vWldM) a recording @ YouTube of the cello suite, one video per movement, by the way.

The Cello Concerto in F 'in the Romantic-Serious Style' by Enric Casals (brother of Pablo) dating from 1946 is a beautiful, elegiac work that would prove a real hit in the concert hall. It certainly lives up to its billing!

What a lovely work this is. It's unpretentious, accessible and put together with real craftmanship. A delightful discovery.
