I've Melartin's SQ 1,2 and 3 by the Meta4 SQ, and 4 by Melartin SQ. But don't know label because they were copies I traded with a friend, and he didn't inform it.

About Romanians and for violin fans, on Youtube you've 26 short pieces played but great Gypsy virtuoso Grigoras Dinicu, a Flesch pupil and a fantastic violinist, playing some of his own and some "classical" pieces. After hearing him playing his "Hora Staccato", I find Heifetz's arrangement academic and fake. Add the IMO one of the best violin interpretations of a short piece ever done: Ginette Neveu's playing Scarlatescu Bagatelle. And last, one of the most beautiful romantic short works for violin and orchestra: Ballad by Ciprian Porumbescu (1853/83)

Yes. I've his Fantasy op.24 for violin and piano, and his A minor SQ.

Recordings & Broadcasts / Re: Georgy Catoire 1861-1926

It seems that you guys only want piano concertos and/or symphonic works. What about chamber? We're discussing Catoire, and nobody mentioned his violin sonatas, his string quartets or his piano trio. I've v.s. 1 and 2, SQ op.23, Elegy for violin and piano and piano trio op.14. Am I the only chamber fanatic here?

About Glazunov's concerto, no better than early Oistrakh IMO.

Ben-Haim had a beautiful folk short solo violin sonata, I've a rare recording by no less than Francescatti (!).

I've her 10 caprices for solo violin. Very effective and smart violin music, rather difficult. Solist was Jasper Wood and it's a Fleurs de Lys CD.
