The cpo release of Adolf Busch's pc (Florence Millet/Vogtland Philharmonie Greiz Reichenbach/David Marlow) has been posted on youtube and will, apparently, be out eventually on CD.  It is coupled with his piano works.

I was surprised to see the cpo recording of the Gernsheim pc (Oliver Triendl/Philharmonisches Staatsorcherster Mainz/Hermann Bäumer) posted on youtube.  I guess it has been or will be released. Also included is the Cello Concerto and Zu einem Drama.

Roberto Prosseda's CD of rare Italian piano concertos (Hyperion CDA68458, with the London PO under Nir Kabaretti; to be released 31 Jan. 2025) includes the following works.  Unfortunately, only the first fits the timeframe of UC:

Guido Alberto Fano:  Andante e Allegro con fuoco (1900)
Luigi Dallapiccola:  Piccolo concerto per Muriel Couvreux (1938-41)
Silvio Omizzolo:  Concerto (1969)
Cristian Carrara:  War Silence (2015)

The Triendl recording of the Ansorge Piano Concerto will be released by Capriccio in March 2025 as CD5511.  The coupling is von Sauer's Concerto 1.  A brief excerpt of the Ansorge and the cover of the CD is now at https://soundcloud.com/user-592952001/conrad-ansorge-piano-concerto-in-f-major-op-28

Looks like Toccata Classics will not be releasing the CD of the 3 Curiel piano concertos.  It was listed as 0338 in the TC pipeline for years, but has now been deleted.  Rodolfo Ritter, the piano soloist, also has told me that TC is not releasing it.

Since "4candles" mentioned the Fumagallis, there's a nice performance of Disma Fumagalli's Concerto, Op. 108 on YouTube played by Orazio Sciortino (pf, cond.) and the Cameristi della Scala (11 Nov. 2011):

I suspect Prosseda's new CD might include Guido Alberto Fano's Andante e Allegro con fuoco (1900) since he performed that with the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva under Nir Kabaretti on 29 Oct. 2022.

Might include some of the Italian concertos listed in Prosseda's repertoire:

Hi Darrel, since you're new to UC, allow me to mention my discography of piano-and-orchestra works, the short version of which is online at https://www.siue.edu/~aho/discography/Discography.pdf.  This will let you know if a recording exists of a particular work (note:  underlined works are in electronic rather than real performances).  My full discography (offline) includes record/CD labels, performers, sources, etc.; I am happy to provide additional information as needed.  This will save you from preparing midi versions of works that have already been recorded in some form.  I look forward to your future uploads.

Thanks, Gareth.  Maybe he will revise his midi if he has the time.

Darrel Hoffman has uploaded a midi realization of Borgstrøm's piano concerto in C, Op. 22 (1910), based on the two-piano score he found on IMSLP:  see <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzGVvoCsZB0&t=870s>

Perhaps someone can help him locate the full score which includes 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets (B♭), 2 bassoons + 4 horns, 2 trumpets (C), 3 trombones + timpani + strings.

Christopher, was the concert you attended on 2 Sept. 2023 or on 31 Aug. 2023, as noted on the youtube videos of the piano concerto and cello concerto?  Were there two performances?

Composers & Music / Re: Vasyl Barvinsky (1888-1963)

I believe that the Oksana Rapita recording of the Barvynsky piano concerto uses the revised orchestration (with a lighter texture) by Bohdana Frolyak, 2019.  This version was also used for the following CD:

INSO-Lviv ("Bridges, Vol. 1"):  Kateryna Titova/INSO [Internat. New SO]-Lviv Youth O/Yaroslav Shemet (2023)

I do not have the scores to compare.  Perhaps Christopher can confirm.
