I listened to the cd a couple of times and didn't notice any clicking noises. I have to say that most of the music on this disc is very enjoyable, especially the Adigezalov concerto. Badalbeyli's compositions are not very interesting, I think. As for music with exotic touches: I also bought the Tcherepnin piano concertos at brilliant classics and his 4th, 'Chinese', piano concerto is very nice, although his 5th and 6th are better, in my opinion.
By the way, Naxos also has a cheap cd with piano works of the young Azerbaijani composer Avner Dorman, who clearly has shifted styles in his short career (towards more modern compositional techniques, but always very accessible) and, like Amirov, Adigezalov and Guliyev, incorporates both ethnic elements, Western classical harmonies and jazz influences.
