QuoteI wonder how his early (1911) Violin Concerto is like?

I have a recording of the Violin Concerto from Latvian Radio LR3 that I made in 2016, which I shall attempt to upload to the Downloads section.  I'm not very familiar with Mediafire, so I should welcome any feedback as to how it has worked (or not).

Average sales pro item so far were between 200 and 500 copies, which is, actually, not too bad for that kind of repertoire...

Is this just physical CDs, or does the figure include downloads?
I have all 10 symphonies - as far as I remember I downloaded them all, from iTunes or from Chandos.

Composers & Music / Re: Lorenzo Perosi (1872-1956)

Well Alan, I couldn't exactly remember what I had done to get the Sgambati, but I played around with the site and eventually managed to download the Perosi concerto for 7 Euros.
On the home page (http://www.amadeusonline.net/, bottom right, you will see four options.  Click on the second one down ((LA RIVISTA DIGITALE).  This takes you to a page where you will see a selection of editions you can buy.  The one you want is no. 327 (currently top left as it is the most recent).
Click on "ACQUISTA ORA" in blue below it.  This takes you to your basket, you then click CASSA and you can pay in a variety of ways (I used PayPal).  At some point the site logged me in (I must have registered last time).  I was then able to click on a download icon and download a Zip file containing the music.  You can download the file 100 times.

As far as I can remember this is what happened - I didn't want to go beyond CASSA again in case I bought a second copy.

I hope this works for you.

Something must have changed.  A couple of years ago some of us successfully downloaded Sgambati's second symphony from the magazine, for around 7 Euros.

Thanks Gareth for confirmation.   That will have been the broadcast I heard.

Jeannie Deans was broadcast by the BBC, I was a student at the time so I think it must have been the late 1960's.  I listened to it; I can't remember if it was the complete opera, but it was certainly a substantial broadcast.

Re F.S.Kelly and his war service, members may be interested in the following, from The Scotsman newspaper today:

http://www.scotsman.com/heritage/people-places/composer-honoured-at-borders-concert-remembering-somme-dead-1-4285687

You may find you have to answer a couple of simple questions before you can see the full text.  Presumably that is to prove you are not a computer from a rival newspaper.

Bitrate appears to be 192kbps - but you get an impressive piano concerto as well as the symphony.

Thanks Richard, I have successfully downloaded the symphony and am now enjoying the music.   The process was as easy as you said.

Composers & Music / Re: Schmidt-Kowalski anyone?

If you are happy with a download, the cello sonatas/nocturnes are available from The Classical Shop (aka Chandos Records)
http://www.theclassicalshop.net/Details.aspx?CatalogueNumber=NA 1273
but only as a 320 kbps MP3.   They also have the three albums of orchestral music as MP3's and in various lossless formats as well.
As far as I can see from their terms and conditions there don't seem to be any restrictions as to where in the world you can download them from.
The music was all new to me and rewarding to listen to - especially the Cello Concerto.

Quite a coincidence - I was halfway through listening to the YouTube version of the symphony when I read this thread, and had just ordered the CD from JPC!

The chamber music CDs, including the piano quartets, were still available in Innsbruck in July.   I see that Records International still offers them for sale, also the two volumes of Netzer symphonies.
