This is truly much needed good news!  Four new releases! It's been a long dry spell and let's hope there are many more in the hopper. Already ordered.

Sorry, I was told in confidence. I don't know why but I gave my word. The total lack of releases  of British music
speaks for itself.  The "in the can" items are Toccata.
Gareth, I could PM you I guess.

I'm told Mike Dutton has lost interest in British music.

None of the works will offend the very delicate sensibilities of the moderaters. Most were written for Finnish light music radio broadcasts.
Enjoy!!!

The names of the few truly impressive female composers fall way out of our sphere.
Maconchy, Grace Williams, Kaprilova to name only three. The composers mentioned previously are very minor and only of interest as
oddities IMHO.

Matt Walters has since disappeared along with the masters in his possession. Last seen in Austin , divorced, then poof! Gone.
A real tragic mystery I'm afraid. The orchestra is left completely out in the cold.

That list is sadly ridiculous. Every one of us would have different list but John Williams? Bernstein over Copland?
No Prokofiev, but Rachmaninoff? Hildegard over anybody? We could go on and on and on. These stupid lists tend to lock the newcomer into limiting greatness to list. What makes greatness anyway? Now there's a thread!

As an aside, surely we must consider Arnold Bax a romantic composer in every way! The  Bliss, more than most of his work, was certainly written in the grand Lisztian romantic style. Give it an honest listen. Ignore the 1939 date.
Now, "Things to Come" and "Adam Zero", not so much!

I am told Tony Dutton has lost interest in British music and funding has dried
up.  Lyrita still has big plans as far as i know.

Thanks to this thread, I immediately ordered the new Arnold Cooke.
Thank you for this release.
