Can't wait for this one!!

Now that's what I call a release! Both VCs by Mlynarski and two concertante pieces by Zarzycki. Scrumptious!

Agreed! And this other April Hyperion release might be worthy of another thread, assuming the composers don't fall outside the remit of this forum:

Do start another thread!

Meanwhile, here's a biography of the violinist in the RVC release:

Glorious news indeed! The RVC series is still alive! :)

I think it's great!  I'm also glad there was no sniping about how Mlynarski's 2nd VC has been previously recorded at least twice.  Having the 1st premiered and both on one disc is good enough for me.

I've liked the Mlynarski 1st VC since I got the download of it currently in our archives.  I actually burned a CD of it (along with his 2nd VC and the Karlowicz) for my friend Danielle Belen after her recent performance out here with the New West Symphony Orchestra at Barnum Auditorium (Santa Monica High School).  I gave her 8 CDs, including the Dietrich, the Reinecke, the Gade and a few others (Lange-Müller, Enna, David's 4th, the Joachim "Hungarian"), some short concertos (Lyapunov, Arensky, Saint-Saëns 1st and I can't recall what else offhand).  Turns out that she already had heard the Karlowicz, but the rest were totally unknown to her.  The Mlynarski No. 1 reminded me of Dvorak, and also Wieniawski's 1st (in its formal outline).  It's a wonderful piece.

That's very enterprising of you, Jim. Well done.

I found out she has done at least one CD for Klaus on Naxos.  The program she played in was rather interesting.  Originally she was going to do Tzigane, Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso and Symphonie Espagnole.  She ended up cutting out the Lalo.  The program opened with Sorcerer's Apprentice, then Danielle came on for the Ravel and Saint-Saëns.  After intermission was more Saint-Saëns - the 2nd Symphony!  Then they ended with Bolero.  All-French, and an interesting mix, with an unsung work by a sung composer thrown in.
