It would seem that 2015 so far bodes well for unsung string quartets; following hot on the heels of the eagerly anticipated Czerny double CD (a must have for me!), comes a Timpani release of all (?) three of Benjamin Godard's quartets. It is announced on amazon.fr as a May release, but no details yet on Timpani's own website. Performers are the Quatuor Elysée!

from matesic's recording on IMSLP, I like no.3. (Seems to have written a fair amount of chamber music throughout his career.) Does look like a release to hear.

The three String Quartets:
No.1 in G minor, Op.32 (1876)

Listening to the recording now while I work, charming music!
