Not a great listen, this. There's really not much that's distinctive about the work; it's quite Straussian in a sub-Elektra sort of way, but there's just nothing really memorable about it. It certainly has nothing of S.Wagner's lyrical gift, being more in the Zemlinsky/Schreker mould (which doesn't appeal to me greatly because of the ungrateful vocal writing - but that's a personal reaction, I realise.)

...however, the work seems very well played, sung and recorded, so for those who like this sort of thing...
