The style? Downstream from Dukas at his most brilliant. Superb stuff!

... plenty of Wagner too in this music. Some of it (Stèle) almost reminds me of a verismo entr'acte.

Dear Alan
Thank You for this interesting discovery!

Utterly entrancing music, all of this. Beautifully scored, melodic and well played and recorded. Great stuff for the jaded palate.

Alan,

Thanks for the 'heads up' on another Marsick album - I was only aware of the Marco Polo (I think!) one (overtures etc) before.

I noticed from your link this is yet another Koch (Swann) album to rave about - does anyone know what happened to all that fabulous 'Koch' repertoire after the label's demise?

Too many of my trawls on unsungs end in an Amazon or similar reference to a no-longer available Koch album!!  Very frustrating.

Cheers

Richard

When I hear "Marsick" I think of a (once) famous violinist -- hrm, but the dates here suggest someone maybe a bit later. Relative?...
