Music of Belarus

Igar Khadoska (b. 1945) – Lamentations ("Жальбы" or "Zhalby" in Belarusian).
Khadoska is more of a compiler than a composer with regard to this piece – he gathered XVIII and early XIX century church music from around Belarus and compiled this piece from that.  It is interspersed with readings from the Gospels (in Belarusian).
Personally I think the result is rather beautiful.
The recording is a private one, and is the premier of the piece, recorded on 24th May 2004 in the Church of the Holy Evangelist in Minsk.  In the attachment there is also a pdf document describing the piece, but it is in Belarusian only (speakers of Russian will understand a lot of it).
