Naxos recording of Beethoven's cantata Der glorreiche Augenblick, Op 136 (premiered? 1814) - well-known composer, very little-known work - has been announced for release (in April in England - not a Foulds reference ) - by MDT (coupled alas with the Choral Fantasy, but- well...)

The cantata is not so great a work (I've heard it from LP) that I'd really consider paying much more than Naxos price for it, I think, at least not on my current budget - but even with a work I already have (if only on tape) as the coupling, I may well get this one; I remember it as fun all the same- take that as you will. Apologies for not having a more whole-hearted recommendation (especially considering that Beethoven is my favorite composer) (and that this may be inappropriate for this forum- I hope that the work at least sneaks in under the barrier in ways that recordings of my favorite Beethoven work - the C# minor quartet - certainly doesn't, unless they were recordings of sketches thereof.)
