I expect it should probably be quite good!

Hrm- I notice that the JPC tracklisting for that item has full titles and timings (under details). I hope they've begun doing that for cpo, too, or will soon. :)

(checks... At IMSLP we have scores for/excerpts from, among vocal works, Opp. 58 and 63, and W 1 (from 1893) and W 10 (from 1909)- not stuff that's on the disc. Well, maybe someone will upload material for op. 53 or 62 (who was Melanie Barth?...) at some point (or op.56, Gedichte after Lessing (1729-1781))...)

Gareth Vaughan

I don't know any of Karg-Elert's Songs, so I might give this a try - but with some trepidation, however, because I confess to finding his organ music excruciatingly dull.

I agree, Gareth. This'll be my first Karg-Elert CD...

years ago, after reading a description in William Newman's book, I interloaned a score of his 3rd piano sonata Op.105, a recording of which was released on cpo more recently. Still haven't heard it (yet- need to try to make a point of that.)
