A few months ago I attended a concert by OFJ with Rodolfo Ritter as pianist which was advertised as Ponce's PC but turned out to be a new piece to me: Ponce's Piano Concerto No. 2. Ritter is touring the country debuting the piece, or at least was since late 2013 and through this year.

The reason I'm writing this entry is that I can confirm that a recording has been made, or at least I've been told that by the people of Quindecim recordings at Guadalajara's Book Fair. It was not clear to me if it is going to be released by Quindecim themselves or if Rodolfo has other plans, but a pro-quality recording does exist. If I know more I'll post it here.

I am not sure this falls within UC's remit, although the 1st concerto certainly does. A CD issued by Sterling on 31st October, has Rodolfo Ritter as soloist and the Orquesta de San Luis Potosi, cond. Zaeth Ritter, and features both concertos and other works.

Thanks for the clarification. I guess that's almost surely the album I was told about: http://www.sterlingcd.com/catalogue/cds1102.html .

A substantial part of the concerto is posted at the end of this page: http://www.fonotecanacional.gob.mx/index.php/noticias/472-rodolfo-ritter-realizara-la-presentacion-mundial-de-grabaciones-y-primicias-de-la-obra-de-manuel-maria-ponce . You are right that its musical  language is not the same as PC 1, this one is way more "impressionist", so to speak. Not late romantic but not in the serialist camp either. Anyway, I got to grant that it ain't really a big romantic piece as its predecessor. And yet, since Ponce (or at least his earlier work) is definitely in the UC "league" I guess this piece might be of interest to some people around.

Ponce's PC1 fits here; I'm afraid PC2 doesn't, as semloh has said.
