Just received my "jpc eCourier" email, mentioning an upcoming cd from cpo, with three Croatian string quartets.  It appears likely that two of the three will be inappropriate for this forum, but a 1909 (or 1911?) composition by one Fran Lhotka (who has been mentioned a few times here, over the years), might be.  Links to the recording, and to Lhotka's Wikipedia page below.

The other composers on the CD are Josip Stolcer-Slavenski (1896-1955) and Bozidar, er, Kunc (1903-1964)...

Let's concentrate here on Lhotka, please.

To bad they did not include Wismer von Morgenstern

IIRC Lhotka wrote a string quartet in G minor (1911), but I don't think that's what's on the recording (nor has it been commercially recorded, if memory serves? Will have to double-check, sorry...)

Gareth Vaughan

Lhotka wrote a Violin Concerto and a Piano Concerto. I have located copies of the full score of the VC, but not the PC.
